Camp Somerset invites applications for the positions of Program Coordinator and Program Assistant, with both roles starting in 2025.
Camp Somerset, managed by the Seventh Day Adventist Conference, offers both complex-based and expedition-based programs in the Somerset region, located west of Brisbane. Our expansive 1,300-acre property features waterfront access to Lake Somerset and is adjacent to D'Aguilar National Park. Guests can participate in various activities, including multiple high ropes courses, canoeing, water sports, natural abseiling, hiking, and mountain biking. Additionally, we offer off-site expeditions such as mountain biking, hiking, and canoeing. Our clientele includes students from year 4 to year 12 for school programs, as well as youth and church groups during holidays. The venue also accommodates private bookings for our cabin accommodations and campsites during non-program periods.
Program Coordinator - Camp Somerset: (Full Time)
A full-time Program Coordinator role is now open at Camp Somerset. This position presents a variety of challenges as part of the Outdoor Programs team, where you will directly support the Senior Program Coordinator in managing the Program Department. As a senior member of the team, the Program Coordinator is accountable to the Senior Program Coordinator and collaborates with the Manager on all aspects of outdoor education and activity programs at Camp Somerset. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, aiding the Senior Program Coordinator with program scheduling, maintaining and developing activity equipment, areas, and resources. Additionally, you will promote outdoor education programs and communicate with current and potential clients about their activity and program needs.
Candidates must possess relevant and demonstrated experience and qualifications in the Outdoor Recreation Industry. Compensation will align with the relevant Industrial Award, depending on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.
Program Assistant (Part Time 3 days a week)
A part-time Program Assistant position is currently open. The Program Assistant will collaborate closely with the Senior Program Coordinator and Program Coordinator to support activity delivery at Camp Somerset and other locations as needed. Additionally, the Program Assistant may assist the Senior Program Coordinator in developing activities and outdoor education programs for clients. The Program Assistant will ensure timely preparation of activities by organising the site and/or equipment as requested by the Senior Program Coordinator or Manager. If the candidate has appropriate experience, this role will also be a part of the leadership team within the Outdoor Department. Candidates should possess proven experience and qualifications in the Outdoor Recreation Industry. Compensation will be based on the applicable Industrial Award and the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.
While the Program Assistant role is part-time, there is potential for more hours during busy periods.
