YouthAdvance Australia is looking for mature, enthusiastic, qualified, Outdoor Leadership Guides to join our team, based in Brookvale.

The role is full-time (38 hours per week) on a 12-month contract, bonus on completion and the opportunity to extend.

At YouthAdvance, we deliver off track outdoor education experiences as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, empowering young Australians to step outside their comfort zones and become #WorldReady. 

Our programs take participants across diverse landscapes – from the beaches of Sydney, the Blue Mountains, North and South Coast, right down to the Snowy’s.

This is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to:

  • Lead life-changing Adventurous Journeys in the field.
  • Help develop and deliver programs that challenge and inspire.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment available as part of the contract package. Paid for by YouthAdvance.
What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and deliver outdoor programs aligned with the Duke of Ed framework.
  • Support program planning, preparation, and logistics.
  • Ensure safety and compliance through effective risk management.
  • Engage with parents, teachers, and students to create a positive experience.
  • Assist in developing new programs and delivering pre-journey training.
  • Care for and maintain equipment and vehicles.
  • Inspire young people through leadership, guidance, and example.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualification in Outdoor Leadership/Education (or currently completing). Trainer & Assessor very desirable.
  • Experience leading groups of young people.
  • Strong skills in navigation, bushwalking, and remote camping.
  • Bonus skills: kayaking/canoeing, 4x4 driving in remote environments.
  • First Aid Certificate (Remote/Wilderness preferred).
  • Great communication and leadership skills.
  • Tech literacy (Microsoft 360).
  • Driver’s Licence and Working With Children Check compulsory.
The Offer:
  • Immediate start
  • Full Time: 38 hrs/week 12-month contract, bonus on completion and the opportunity to extend.
  • Pay: $32 - $36/hour (depending on skills and experience) Amusement Award MA00080
  • Any additional hours worked on a longer trip are taken as time in liew the week before or after.
